[Publication] Three short new papers by Dr. Wakabayashi were published in The Journal of Public Health Practice.
Three short paper series of “Activities in UNICEF Brazil on children's health” by Dr. Wakabayashi has been published at The Journal of Public Health Practice Vol.88 (7), 2024.
The first paper provides a strategy called the Active Vaccination Project (BAV, Busca Ativa Vacinal in Portuguese) which UNICEF Brazil has developed to reduced Zero-dose children.
This paper describes UICEF Brazil's activities; Infant Friendly Unit Initiative (UAPI: Unidade amiga da PrimeiraInfancia). UAPI is an approach to improving early childhood service delivery and dialogue between professionals, pregnant women, and families with children. UAPI includes technical assistance for establishing primary health care units, monitoring and follow-up, and quality certification.
The third paper introduces UNICEF Brazil's response to the large-scale drought in the Amazon state in 2023. The 2025 Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) will be held in Brazil. The necessary of education for health professional to learn “climate change and health” is discussed.
